Anglo Indians from any part of the globe are welcome to buy land and settle down here in this small civilised village that is surrounded and filled with natural beauty.
Land is not very easily available though, but there are some AI's who will sell land only to AI's so that they have their own kind living around them.
Price of land is rising day by day, yet the prices here are quite reasonable if compared to any other state in India. A plot of 5 decimals, enough to build a small house would not cost too much. Say around a hundred and twenty-five thousand or so.
Land that is closer to the railway station or to any leading road, is higher in price. Of course, most AI's prefer to be away from noise and commotion so most of their bungalows exist in sort of hidden or isolated places. in the middle of the jungle or at the foot of a hill, anywhere, and all quite far from each other.
Plots for farm houses or stables etc. are also available now but won't be for long. There are a few plots of land near about one acre each available at central places and a few within villages.
Foreigners are investing here just for the sake of holidaying. We have quite a few foreigners coming down each year. Most come to visit relatives while few come to learn about the history of the place or simply to see the place that is now being highlighted so much by media.
Would love to buy! Not sure it would be possible but I am a PIO holder.
ReplyDeleteHi,
DeleteHolding a PIO card! I don't see any problem as you are free to purchase and sell land in India as per the law. You are also entitled to lease your property up to a period of five years.
Go ahead and plan a visit and then decide whether you really want to buy property or not.
Best regards.

Hello Brother!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your comment containing your desire to be a settler in McCluskiegunj. As you say you would like to buy land here, then please speed up the process after receiving this response.
You can purchase a small block of land at around 2.5 lakhs for ten decimals. There is a piece of land going for sale now but it is being sold as plots of 5, 10 and 20 decimals. There won't be much land left soon and prices are going up rapidly...
Regarding safety of the place, its sure safe. kindly get in touch again...
Regards.

ReplyDeleteCan a non Anglo Indian buy a property
ReplyDeleteBe very careful on letting old sentiments obscure your common sense. This is not an India that you remember. If you are determined to relive old memories, try renting first. I would never go back to India, even though life in a foreign country is not what I expected. Why would so many Indians leave? Watch out for your money!
