McCluskiegunj - When the Maoists ruled...

Today, McCluskiegunj has a police station with a big no. of cops that patrol the area and the residents are at ease and living in peace and harmony.
When the Maoists were ruling the place, right eight o'clock meant night. Nobody was supposed to be outdoors after eight pm. Life was not how people wanted it to be in a place like heaven. Fear was in all those who live here. The place was hell in this sense.
Now, after the Maoists have been chased out by the police everybody is leading their lives without fear. It's not night before ten or even eleven. Lovely!
But there is something that cannot be denied.
The Maoists protected the forests. They warned villagers that anybody caught cutting trees would be punished severely.
Everyday villagers are cutting trees and stacking for firewood. The forests are getting bare. Soon there won't be any forests at this rate.
The Fear of being punished has gone with the Maoists!
