Eagle Rescued

Today, Mr. Christopher D'Costa, an Anglo Indian resident rescued an eagle that was entangled in a huge tree. It seemed to have got struck while swooping down to pick up something of its's interest.
Christopher spotted the large bird and asked his neighbour Kallu Mia for a laggi (long bamboo with a hook). At first Kallu Mia was pleased to know of the eagle being stuck. He said that if it died it would be better as eagles take away their chicks that are small. Finally he agreed to give the laggi. Christopher managed to pull and tug at the stalks and branches allowing the bird to fall. As soon as it fell it was up and it flew into the early morning clear sky.

Gramin Bank Bankrupt

Hello folks, here’s something special…
Recently my wife filled up a withdrawal form to draw out some cash at the only bank here. The Ranchi Kshetriya Gramin Bank, Lapra Branch. Checques have been unavailable since last month. Anyway, she went on a Monday but was returned due to no cash in the bank. She went on the following Tuesday but again there was no money in the bank to pay her. She received her amount on Wednesday. On Wednesdays, the bank opens only for official work and no transaction is carried out. Saturdays are half days for transactions and Sundays are regularly closed.
That’s the way the Ranchi Kshetriya Gramin Bank, Lapra Branch functions. Great! Isn’t it???
